 ALTERNATOR TROUBLES
Had to have my alternator replaced this week, up and died in traffic Thursday morning. Luckily I managed to coast into a side road in Parnell and wait for the tow truck. First major thing to happen to my car. Quote from Coutts over the phone to recondition it etc. etc. $1,100-1,200...wow... Got it done from my mechanics (anyone who has a Merc in Auckland needs to go to them!) for $650 cash all up. Because the car's EFE (Electric F***ing Everything) when the battery stopped being charged and it was running on just itself...everything started shutting down and the car display kept throwing up warnings "Brake Assist Failure!" "ESP Inactive!" "SRS Inoperative!" "Check Light Sensor!" "Steering Assist Failure!" Nein Nein Nein Nein Nein Nein!!!! (Inglorious...hehe)

 Re: ALTERNATOR TROUBLES
would have been fun to drive when all those things were gone, no esp or steering assist
not a bad alternator repair price

 Re: ALTERNATOR TROUBLES
ah, didn't know it was a merc lol yeah, I guess the idea is, if you can afford the merc, you can afford the ridiculously overpriced repairs lol

 Re: ALTERNATOR TROUBLES
It's a minor problem and an easy fix, but when something goes on of these...let's just say everything's connected.
